Since Roman times and later with the Grand Tour, the Phlegraean Fields area stretching from the hill of Posillipo to the promontory of Monte di Procida, with Pozzuoli, Baia and Bacoli, was a renowned resort, a favorite destination with its many villas, spas and amphitheaters. (The Phlegrean Pompeii).
Visiting this area, learning about it and tasting its flavors can become an experience difficult to forget.
Thus was born our initiative to popularize the historical-artistic, environmental, natural and scenic heritage of our land, rich in evocative visions charged with a primitive naturalness.
Archaeology, Art and Culture, Environment and Nature, Events and Manifestations, and not only, Food and Wine, Entertainment, Sea, Wellness and Relaxation, show the reality that surrounds us, generous with heady scents and sensations.
The hope is that all this will stimulate the reader’s curiosity so that he or she may (come to) experience and love the uniqueness of these places.
Already the ancients had given the Phlegraean Fields the role of a mythological region; here Hercules performed his deeds, the Sibyl prophesied, Ulysses and Aeneas landed and Charon transshipped the souls of the dead to the underworld.
